Welcome to Gujarat model of ‘good governance’

Surat, December 4, 2017

BJP’s sitting state Health Minister Shankarsinh Chaudhary’s affidavit filed along with his nomination papers from Vav constituency in Banaskantha district in north Gujarat shows he passed MBA degree before passing Standard 12th.

Citizens widely circulated the image of this affidavit on the social media.

The affidavit (see the photo above) clearly shows Chaudhary passed Std 12th in 2011 and he passed MBA in 2009.

The returning officer at Vav and the senior lawyer, who notarized this affidavit, both missed this glaring error.

Citizens have discussed the minister’s dubious academic qualifications in the past, but the State Election Commission has apparently taken no action against him.

This is not the first time Chaudhary has made a fool of himself. One political observer says, “Once Chaudhary took his role of chief guest at school too seriously and started teaching primary pupils. He wrote the spelling of elephant wrong on the board. Local media splashed headlines of this error in papers the next day.

The National Dawn’s comment on the pathetic state of affairs: ‘Welcome to Gujarat model of good governance’.

The first phase of Gujarat assembly elections start December 9.
