SSC girl commits suicide at Baroda


A student residing at Gotri area of Baroda committed suicide fearing failure in SSC board exams on Wednesday evening, hanged herself from ceiling fan of her bedroom.

According to sources, Radhika Mahante (17) residing at 31/32, Amitnagar Society, Gotri, had committed suicide hanging herself from ceiling fan with help of ‘scarf’ cloth. She feared of failing in SSC exams and decided to end her life. She was to appear for science exam in evening. It is to be noted that deceased failed in three subjects last year. She was appearing those three subjects which she had failed in. before committing suicide the deceased girl ate her favourite noodles. Speaking to TND, relative of deceased girl said, “She had applied for appearing all the three subjects for re-examination. Her exam centre was at Vidyamandir at Gotri Laxmipura village.”

On Wednesday noon Radhika and her friend had also visited exam centre. Moreover, she had done all the preparations for three subjects. But, this time also fear of failing in exam had got over her mind and hence she committed suicide.
