Vadodara: Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of Gujarat started a skill gap assessment survey programme under the direction of the Directorate of Employment and Training, in Gujarat state to measure the market scenario and current economical trends with available employment opportunity in the state. Taking forward the initiative, the Directorate Employment and Training, Govt. of Gujarat has started the Gujarat Skill Development Mission and involved all the Industry association, Companies, employer organization, PSU and skill training providers and the Youth as major stakeholders for the survey.
promote this mission the office of the Regional Director (Employment) organizes one day orientation workshop on Skill Gap Survey for Counselors, Employer organization and skill training institute on 15th Dec 2016 at C.C.Mehta Auditorium, MS University Campus, Vadodara, Gujarat.
Ms. Vina Damor, Employment Officer, Vadodara started the programme by welcoming the Guest and invite all dignitaries for the lightning of lamp and formal inauguration of programme. Shri Diwakar Singh has given the key note on Skill and Need of Skill gap survey in Gujarat and Ms Shrideep Macwan presented the Skill Gap study, its relevance and benefits of it. Mr Ravi Takle General Manager from Teamlease University Vadodara provides information on skill demand and the opportunity for the unskilled youth through Gujarat first Skill University. Mr Rajendra Singh from L&T, Vadodara speaks on the current demand of the Market and requirement of the Employers.
The chief Guest of the programme Dr. B.S.Chakraborty remarked on the necessity of skill training for grab better employment opportunity and also mentioned to involve soft skill training in course curriculum as a major part as hard skills we learn in institutes. They also congratulate to the RDD Employment and MCC Vadodara team for their tireless efforts in the organizing this needful workshop.
The event at C.C.Mehta Auditorium, MS University Campus Vadodara was attended by Employment Officers from Vadodara region, Placement officers of ITI from Vadodara and many other officials from the Government and the academia specially teachers of career corners of Vadodara.
On this occasion, more than 200 participants attended the workshop and take benefits of this innovative work plan of Directorate of Employment and Training, Govt of Gujarat.
