Patidar peoples leader Hardik Patel’s rising public profile ahead of Gujarat State elections has won him a global celebrity as friend.
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has invited the 23-year-old pro reservation leader to Silicon Valley, according to news circulating in Gujarat.Patel’s fan pool and his ability to pull large online audiences with his anti Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP speeches at political rallies have impressed Zuckerberg, reports in Gujarati language media say.
Reports citing data analytics say, “Hardik Patel’s record-breaking poll campaign in textile and diamond hub Surat attracted over 37,000 online viewers for the live stream of his speech. Ahmedabad-based online Mera News says, “Patel’s live conversation on Facebook on November 27, received over 600,000 likes. Over 5,000 fans shared his posts.” The portal claims the Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) leader has over 850,000 followers social media.
His Facebook official page has over 800,000 likes, less than one-third of BJP’s 2.5 million likes. However, Patel has over 4 million likes from his last ten rallies.Political observers say, “What goes around, comes around”. They remind that Modi projected and propelled his image on the national stage by a well-managed political campaign three years ago. Social media now showcases Hardik Patel.
