KLF Chief Mintoo arrested again

NEW DELHI: Khalistan Liberation Front chief Harminder Mintoo , who along with five others escaped from Nabha jail in Punjab yesterday, was arrested in Delhi today.
Mintoo was reportedly arrested at New Delhi Railway Station, in a joint operation by the Punjab and Delhi police.
In a daring jailbreak on Sunday morning, 12 to 14 armed men, some of them in police uniform, entered the high-security Nabha Central Jail in Punjab’s Patiala district, attacked guards and escaped with Mintoo. Along with the terrorist, five gangsters lodged in the jail also escaped.
The men came in four cars, kept three parked outside and used an SUV to reach one of the jail gates. While some of them wore turbans and had a beard, the rest were clean shaven. Officials told The National Dawn that four of them wore police uniform and pretended they were bringing a handcuffed criminal, who turned out to actually be their accomplice, to jail. The jail superintendent and his deputy have been sacked.
The assailants who helped the prisoners escape hid weapons in blankets and had extra police uniforms, witnesses said.
Later in the evening, UP police arrested Parminder Singh alias Painda , who had played a key role in planning and executing the jailbreak, from Kairana in Shamli district. He was driving one of the SUVs used in the escape.
