Indian cricketer Mithali Raj sets world record

New Delhi: In a moment to rejoice in Indian cricket, Mithali Raj captain of the Indian women’s cricket team has made a world record. Mithali has hit her seventh consecutive 50, which is the maximum by any female cricketer.

She hit her seventh 50 in against England on Saturday in the ICC Women’s World Cup. She broke the records of Lindsay Reeler, Charlotte Edwards and Ellyse Perry, all the three having hit consecutive six 50 in ODIs.

In her 18-year long career, she has achieved some commendable feats. She also holds the records of maximum 50s by any international women cricketer, at 47.
Adding to that she also has the best average at 52.27, which is again the best. In her entire career till date she has scored 5825 runs making her the second woman cricketer to cross the 5000 mark.
