Hazira unit of Krishak Bharati wins top award

Multi stater fertilizer producer Krishak Bharati Co-operative (KRIBHCO) has won two major industry awards, the co-operative said.

Its plant at Hazira, near Surat won the first award ‘Best Production performance of an Operating Fertilizer Unit for Nitrogen (Urea and Amonia) for the year 2016-17.

KRIBHCO won the second award ‘Best Video Film’ titled ‘Aa ab laut chaley’ (Come, let us return). The film educates farmers on various aspects of pulses, said Additional General Manager Marketing Sanjay Kumar Singh said in a press note.

Federal Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers and Parliamentary Affairs Ananth Kumar presented the awards to KRIBHCO Operations Director R K Aggarwal and Marketing Director V S Sirohi at the FAI Annual Seminar held in New Delhi from December 5 to 7.

Secretary Fertilizers Bharathi S Sihag; Secretary DAC & FW S K Pattanayak and Secretary DARE and DG, ICAR Dr Trilochan Mohapatra attended the awards’ event.

KRIBCHO produces and markets 4.12 million MT of urea from its three plants in Hazira, KFL and OMIFCO (Oman). It also produces bio-fertilizers and certified seeds.
