Working on a tip off from an informant who lost more than 40 lakh in gambling a team of police officers from Pandesara police station nabbed 12 gamblers with material worth Rs 70 lakh and liquor on Wednesday. “The people in custody include big businessmen from Pandesara area” Said sources.
A team of police officers on Wednesday reached Siddhi Vinayak Platinum opposite to Pannch Mukhi Hanuman temple in Pandesara. They made a raid on a room located on the first floor of Siddhi Vinayak platinum and nabbed four businessmen who were drunk and indulged in betting and gambling. Working further they reached in the other room and nabbed eight businessmen from Yarn, textile, and real estate.
In further investigation police found that both the shops were registered in the name of Prakash Patel and Kanhaiya Patel. They had set up a bar and casino from past many months where big names in business industries use to arrive for a booze and gambling. Police have seized, 274 multicolour coins, five pack of cards, 11 cell phones worth Rs 3,15, 500, Cash Rs 2,29,835, five motor cars and one bike. The total value of the seized materials were Rs 69,90, 335.
Sources Said, “The owner of the gambling club use to exchange money with coins value of 20 thousand, 1 lakh and 50 thousand.
In addition to it, police also remained silent on the case and tried to supress the name of the accused caught on the spot. A team of Pandesara police under leadership of Police Inspector MV Patel maid raid at 6:15Pm which lasted till 12 in the night and yet they escape from media to provide the names and further information about the people in custody.
A team of police officer moved towards Ghoddod road to reach the court in Van made a halt at Indoor Stadium amid the way and gave liberty to the accused to have their meals and to meet their relatives. Getting information of it, a team of media reached on the spot and tried to take snapshots of the moment but were warned by police. However, the driver took no more time and rushed with the Van towards the court.
Gamblers arrested include
Atul Parshuram, resident Nandanvan VIP road Vesu and is indulged in business of embroidery, Businessman Vivek Gupta residing at Brijwashi Apartment Umra, Deepak Aahir residing at Neelam garden Society Vejalpur Navsari and own a business of travels, textile merchant Sumit Kediya of Happy residency, Vesu were included in the team of 12 people who were arrested .
